Literature Text

Rabbits, rabbits are hopping on the moon~
The rabbits are singing a happy tune~
Their song is music to their floppy ears~
Music washing away their many fears~
As they dance on the sandy lunar dune~

Rabbits, rabbits are hopping on the land~
Being quite merry on the lunar sand~
Playing hide-and-seek and fun bunny games~
Dance do the bunnies who do not have names~
To the bunnies, life is joyous and grand!

With their floppy ears, they sway to the beat~
Hopping they do on their long bunny feet~
With flurries of motion they dance and play~
Joyously they parade the night away~
To them, this celebration is a treat!

In merry dancing the rabbits partake~
Round and round they parade around the cake~
The bunnies must dance before they can eat~
The carrot cake is their favorite treat!
Before they feast, they must dance, play, and shake!

Bunnies, bunnies, aren't wanting to gain weight~
They dance to slim down, so that they can sate
Their voracious appetite of huge size~
They know the importance of exercise~
They soon begin to eat—the cake tastes great!

Soon all that is left are many cake crumbs~
Fat bunnies too, the cake was full of yums~
They know they need to dance and play some more~
But their feet hurt, and their bodies are sore~
So they rest on the ground like fallen plums.

This poem has six stanzas, five lines each. Each stanza is a limerick due to the rhyme scheme. Each line also only has ten syllables.

A tune or rhythm could be assigned to it. Not sure if other people will interpret a different rhythm than what I had in mind when I wrote this.

The poem belongs to me.
