(Note: you may see this bio use first-person and third-person interchangably, even though I think I fixed all of that. If there are any grammatical errors, deal with it, for the original bio/profile for my character was typed up in 2007, back when I was a noob when it came to writing. Most of the grammatical errors should be fixed, however.)
Hi there, nice to meet you. I am Tropical. You may call me Trop if you wish.
I am male, and am seventeen years old. I have a story to tell, the story about my hometown and about my life, abilities, powers. This...is the story about my kind. This is the story about Cumulus City.
I had hatched and lived in Cumulus City all my life.
Food, water, vitamins and minerals, energy absorption, and sleep naturally refill my energy reserve. If I had run out, I would have collasped from fatigue. I use some of my energy reserve to use golden-yellow Energy (which is explosive in nature and can absorb other kinds of energy if used correctly).
These are my moves that I currently know with using my Energy powers (I might be able to learn more, I don't know):
* Energy Shield, which upon using, immediately surrounds me in a spherical shield filled with Energy;
* Energy Barrier, which forms a circular plane of Energy not unlike the Pokemon move Barrier as seen in Pokemon Stadium (I can do various sizes);
* Energy Beam, which I charge up and release as a beam via expelling the beam from the mouth;
* and finally the Energy Blast, which is a literal explosion of Energy, not unlike what happens when you detonate a bomb.
I am immune to all of my Energy power's harmful effects and side effects (aside from collapsing from an empty energy reserve), meaning that my own Energy cannot obliterate me.
I also can teleport (but not across dimensions), and can fly thanks to my wings (I am a four-armed ParaYoshi). I can glide as well. They say my kind can also do divebombs, but I don't know how to do that yet, but I bet I can learn how, given time and training. Thanks to my four arms, various tasks are easier, as is multitasking. Tasks that are possible with four arms that are not possible with two arms makes things a bit easier too.
My magic is weak. I have such a weak grip on my magic that most of the time I mess up in trying to use it. That is, the outcome of my magic is completely random yet weak. Therefore, I prefer not to use magic. In fact, I haven't used magic in so long that I've forgotten how to use it. I at least remember that I once knew how to use it, even though most of the time incorrectly. I also know that the ability to use magic is still there, I just don't remember how to activate it. Still, my magic is useless, as far as I'm concerned.
I am a member of a subspecies of Yoshikind that live in Cumulus City a.k.a. "The City in the Clouds."
I am a yellow four-armed ParaYoshi, with the shoes, saddle, and spineplates being cyan (the color is also known as "aqua"). My wings are feathery.
The Yoshis from Cumulus City are called Cumulians. All Cumulians are Yoshis who have four arms (or should I say, all Cumulians should in theory, but some have less than four arms and therefore disabled. More on that later) and a pair of wings (whether feathery or otherwise), hence we are four-armed ParaYoshis. Hey, I'm one of them! We generally are kindhearted and are peaceloving pacifists, but we would fight if we had to.
Cumulus City has never sided with any country in any war, and the main talents of Cumulus City are exotic and unusual culinary cooking, magic, and various elemental powers. The elemental powers and magical abilities vary from Cumulian to Cumulian, and all of us are quite strong, I think. I've never met a Cumulian who wasn't strong... Anyways, the strength of such abilities can vary depending on the Cumulian in question.
Cumulus City is also called "The City in the Clouds." This metropolis's foundation is a rich blend of cloud and magic--nothing can destroy it, and the city cannot be moved or blown away. This city is floating in the sky, where most cannot reach it; however, rather recently, tourists have visited my city. We Cumulians frown on tourism, but there's really nothing we can do about it. Besides, tourism does bring our city some income.
Our currency? Well, we use a currency called coins. Surely you have heard of coins, right? The kind Mario collects in his adventures? Ring a bell?
Anyways, the citizens of Cumulus City, including me (Tropical), are all strict vegetarians--we do not eat eggs or any kind of meat, but will eat dairy products and from other food groups. We Cumulians (or those of us that can cook, for that matter) make exotic vegetable and fruit dishes from standard, normal ingredients. Since we don't eat eggs, we use egg substitute, a cloud-green yolk-like substance (which has all the properties of egg yolk), which comes from the Eggpuff Herb found only in Cumulus City. Our Cumulian Potato & Eggplant Salad is a traditional dish handed down from many generations. Personally, I've never been such a good cook. I've never excelled in Magic class, Potions, nor cooking class...
I'm the oldest of three siblings. My two younger brothers look exactly like me, except one has red spineplates and the other has bright green spineplates.
Cumulus City is a city populated with four-armed ParaYoshis of various eye colors, skin colors, shoe colors, spineplate colors, wing colors, saddle colors, and saddle ring colors. Some of us have feathery wings, some of us have bat wings, some of us have bug wings, some of us have dragon wings, etc. Mutations in the Cumulian gene pool can include being a taur (that is, four legs, the normal saddle, and another saddle on top of the rear set of legs), extra head (very rare), problems with the five main senses (like having to wear glasses/contacts, not being able to smell, hearing loss, etc. Usually these are minor problems--a total loss of any of the senses is extremely rare, like being totally blind, for example), paralysis (extremely rare--a Cumulian is more likely to have a total loss of one of the five senses than to be paralyzed), claws (feet or hands, very rare), fangs (extremely rare), three eyes (the eyes would be in a row rather than form a triangle shape), three legs in a row (left leg, middle leg, and right leg. Thankfully, the middle leg is undifferentiated, meaning it is neither a right nor a left leg but a true middle leg) and can function as a right leg, as left leg, and as a middle leg. Also, it is impossible for a Cumulian to have three legs in a row and be a taur at the same time, that is, a Cumulian cannot have five or more legs. However, a Cumulian taur can have three legs with the fourth leg missing), and missing some arms or some other limbs (if you are a Cumulian and have less than four arms or missing any other limb, you are classified as disabled).
My personality? I'm fun-loving, like to make jokes, playfully tease others, am happy and cheerful all the time but can be serious, calm, and in control if need be.
My loyal and pure-hearted girlfriend, Starlight, is also from Cumulus City, and has pink skin, four arms, a pair of feathery wings, bright green shoes, dark
green spineplates, yellow saddle, and black eyelashes. Merlon of Toad Town predicted that she and I will remain together for life.
Cumulus City is a tropical city for the sole reason that it is in the clouds in the tropics--Cumulus City does not necessarily have a tropical climate.
The temperatures are pleasantly warm (for Yoshis, anyways) during daytime, and at night, are quite chilly.
What exactly is built on Cumulus City? In the center is a magical lake. In order starting from the edge of the lake: a park, suburbs, urban, skyscrapers, urban, suburbs, cloudy fields, the edge of Cumulus City.
Cumulus City is circular, and the magical cloud foundation is hemispherical.
Cumulus City is an industrial city with advanced technology far ahead of the time of the rest of the world. It has a 100% pollutant-free atmosphere and uses only
clean energy.
One of the major technology giants in Cumulus City is Cumulian Magics, Inc., a 100% trustworthy company, trusted by all Cumulians.
I love flying, reading, playing video games, swimming, heights, ice elements (too bad I can't use that), snow, cold, tropical-related things, vacationing in Isle Delfino, pizza (just not with meat on it), ice cream, slushies, sweets (not hard candy though. And I hate anything with coffee in it), Root Beer, Cream Soda, popsicles, chilled moist cake, cake (but not cheesecake nor fruitcake), creamsicles, frozen bananas, frozen fruit, pudding, cucumbers, vegetables (not peppers), bananas (my favorite), lemons, pinapples, fruit (not any sour fruit other than lemons, not any bitter fruit, and not cranberries), and some other things. I especially like going on dates with Starlight and just being with her.
Now, about my weaknesses. All Cumulians have weaknesses, and I do too. I am easily made dizzy, am weak to electricity, can't hurt cloud enemies, can't hurt ghosts, am easily poisoned, am weak to fire, and am weak to psychic-type attacks. I have a fear of going under the earth. Caves and stuff like that scare me, for I feel like I'm going to be swallowed up any moment. I fear the Yoob that is mentioned in folklore, but they say Yoobs don't exist, or at least not anymore. I don't like the energy of darkness and I despise evil stuff. I especially fear endless pits and black holes.
I like light, the energy of light, good, and justice.
Cumulus City has a mayor, who is in charge of the entire city, but he has a judicial court and a legislative group of people who are also in charge. There's a check-and-balance system going on, and every once in a good while, either a new mayor is elected or a previous mayor is re-elected. A mayor of Cumulus City can only be elected twice.
Oh, there seems to be something I didn't mention earlier. Some of us Cumulians actually have hair, but that trait is rather uncommon, but still more common than any of the mutations in the Cumulian gene pool. Anyways, the hair of a Cumulian, like that of other Yoshis, can be naturally of any existing Yoshi skin color. For example, a green Yoshi could have, say, pink hair, since there is such thing as a pink Yoshi. Anyways, there also are a few other colors that can happen: gold, silver, bronze, and Rainbow are also possible hair colors we're able to have. If you see a Cumulian with rainbow hair, note that the hair isn't dyed, since we haven't exactly figured out how to dye hair in more than one color at a time.
As for clothes, clothes are only used for fashion or keeping warm, and aren't really necessary.
We also have Blue Raspberries and White Raspberries naturally growing in Cumulus City. You see, they start out as unripe, then ripen into Blue Raspberries, then ripen again into the sweet-tasting White Raspberries, which are white with a little tinge of light yellow. We also have White Cherries and Black Cherries too, as well as various other fruits. Our soil is very forgiving and allows most fruits that could not grow in the same environment to actually grow together, despite however the weather is like.
One more thing: Cumulus City has a protection spell that protects Cumulus City from most of the weather and keeps us Cumulians from under- or over-reproducing our kind.
And that is all I have to say about my city and my life. Now that you know my story, have a nice day, and perhaps we will meet again.
